Addict, Junkie and OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)
By Paul Hogan
I have been these things for years and years and now, I want to share my not so dark and not so secret with you, my friends. At some point early in my teen years I read Dale Carnegie’s book, How To Win Friends & Influence People. After that, I don’t know when, somewhere and somehow, I got exposed to the self-help industry and the Gurus: Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy, Napoleon Hill, Stephen Covey, Og Mandino, Dale Carnegie, Dan Kennedy, Jim Rohn, Daren Hardy and a host of other lesser-known writers and speakers. I bought and listened to tapes, read books, articles in magazines. I attended seminars. I did self-affirmations, wrote down goals and dreams, made lists and prioritized. I used daily lists, then the Franklin planner system and other time management and personal development programs on and on.

Yes, I am a self-help junkie and I have a obsessive-compulsive disorder when it comes to self-improvement.
Whether or not I am an improved “me,” others can decide. All I know is when I work on myself I feel better and I know that I can’t fix others, so there’s no need to work on them, and besides, they resent it when I try.
Before this self-help addiction I’ve not shied away from sharing with most everyone at some point that I’m in recovery and have been for years from my true addiction to alcohol. The first of My Core Values is my focus on my recovery program. In addition, one of our Office Core Values is that we are a recovery office. There is zero tolerance for alcohol and drug addiction. For good reason – we can be better servants to you.
The reason I share with you who and what I am is to give you the background, some context as to the reason why I want to give you “a gift” that was freely given to me.

Darren Hardy has been a part of my life for over 11 years, much much longer than any other influencer/teacher and there is a reason for that. And that is why I recommend the following link for a FREE Daily

Idea for anyone who is in business, wants to be in business, has a family member/loved one in business, or just wants a life positive daily message.
Just go to Darren Hardy’s website: https://dd.darrenhardy.com to start your Free Daily Mentoring Journey with your own dose of DarrenDaily.
Now, this may not be everyone’s cup of tea so my next gift to those is a simple reminder: Live In Today.
Tomorrow will bring its own problems, as the good book says. Along with that, I believe in the power of prayer. I used to not do this, now I say prayers first thing in the morning and sometimes after hearing something that is painful, a personal loss for someone I’m talking to or a news event. I’m not embarrassed to say, “I say a prayer for…….” then I do.
God bless you. Today I say a prayer for you.
